The Interview
What is the most memorable experience you have ever had related to basketball officiating?
My most memorable moment was being nominated for the FIBA Women's AmeriCup 2021. As it was my first international challenge, the unique atmosphere of a pandemic-era tournament made the experience deeply meaningful.
Name one referee you have learned a lot from.
Héctor Uslengui, a former FIBA World Championship referee, has been my greatest influence. He guided my early steps as an instructor, and I still share my professional achievements with him today.
How do you recharge after a particularly tough game?
I prioritize high-quality nutrition, stretching, and mental relaxation to recharge. I purposefully delay my game analysis until the following day so I can review my performance with a clear and objective mind.
What is your process for objective self-critique and moving forward after a challenging game?
My process involves reviewing the game to pinpoint the root causes of any mistakes and identifying practical solutions. I view every challenging performance as a vital opportunity to learn and refine my craft.
What is your greatest strength in officiating?
I believe my greatest strengths are a deep understanding of the game and strong physical conditioning. I am currently focused on refining my technical officiating to ensure even better decision-making on the court.
